Users can request a book from the search desk, and once the librarian receives the item, it can be delivered to the LG CLOi ServeBot drawer. To ensure that the delivery is made to the correct person, the drawer will only open after the requester enters the generated password in the search panel on the robot’s screen. Since the LG robots can easily navigate the elevator, they can move to any of the different levels of the library as needed.
Meanwhile, LG’s bookshelf-style CLOi ServeBot has caught the attention of Changwon Library’s busy staff by delivering returned books to automated book return desks. Without having to push or unload carts piled high with heavy books, staff have more time and energy to help visitors seeking advice or answering their questions.
