This requires them to run refrigerators and coolers at a certain temperature around the clock, otherwise stored food will rot faster. To reduce food waste and control energy consumption in chillers and cold rooms, ZenConnect can be the perfect solution. It enables IoT sensors to monitor the temperature inside food warehouses and maintain it at the desired level. It also calculates the amount of energy required based on the storage room’s operating trends and limits consumption accordingly.

To achieve this goal, a questionnaire was developed and a survey was conducted among the heads of environmental functions of the hotels under investigation, who were selected through a convenience sampling method. The survey was conducted among 48 participants from four and five Green Star hotels, representing 63% of the Green Star certified hotels in Egypt. The findings revealed that the implementation of green hotel practices in four and five Green Star certified hotels contributed positively to the achievement of SDG 6, SDG 12, SDG 7 and SDG 13. The main motivation for adopting Green Star standards is the hotel’s commitment to environmental sustainability. The findings also show that, overall, there are statistically significant differences between four and five Green Star hotels across all sustainability goals considered.
