A sample of 48 participants from four to five Green Star hotels was surveyed, representing 63% of the total number of Green Star certified hotels in Egypt. The results of the study show that the implementation of green hotel projects in four and five Green Star hotels that were analyzed made a positive contribution to achieving SDG 6, SDG 12, SDG 7 and SDG 13 respectively. The main reason behind the Green Star certification is the hotel’s commitment to the environment. The study also showed that, in general, there were significant differences between four and five Green Star hotels in all the SDGs mentioned.
