Smart agriculture has the potential to meet the 2050 challenge of feeding 10 billion people. Artificial Intelligence (AI) and the Internet of Things (IoT) have become essential for smart agriculture due to interoperability, sensors and technologies. cutting-edge machine. Taking the role of responsible leadership, this paper proposes an AI and IoT-based smart agriculture system in Bangladesh. With a literature review, this book advises on the need to go beyond the simple application of traditional farming and irrigation practices and recommends the implementation of smart agriculture that makes the leader responsible for sustainable agriculture. It contributes to the current smart agriculture literature in several ways. First, this paper helps to understand the prospects and challenges of AI and IoT and the question of smart agriculture in a non-Western context. Second, it sheds light on responsible leadership interventions in Bangladesh’s agricultural sector and justifies the demand for sustainable smart agriculture. Third, this paper is a step forward for future studies to explore the effectiveness and efficiency of AI and IoT to achieve smart agriculture. Ultimately, this paper will help policy makers to take responsible initiatives to plan and implement smart agriculture in a developing economy like Bangladesh.

The 2050 goal of sustainable agriculture is to increase agricultural production to meet the food demand of 10 billion people and need smart agriculture [1]. The concept of smart agriculture refers to the application of cutting-edge technologies, including artificial intelligence (AI), the Internet of Things (IoT), and high-speed wireless networking in agricultural practices to improve agricultural productivity and sustainability. increased [2, 3, 4]. ]. Following trend and development, traditional farming practices are being transformed to new and innovative technology for agriculture and supply chain management in Bangladesh. Furthermore, the concept of Agri-Food 4.0 has initiated a revolution in traditional agriculture by introducing the fifth generation or 5G wireless communication technology into the field [4]. Agri-Food 4.0 refers to a digitized approach to agricultural sustainability, the quality of life of farmers and the overall competitiveness of the sector through high productivity and practical and efficient land management.

First, the concept of intelligent agriculture based on AI and IoT is an emerging concept, and the application of a legitimate management and integration with traditional agriculture is found to be difficult [2, 3, 9]. Responsible leadership brings operational results and supports two important needs for smart agriculture, such as the definition and goals for sustainable production [10, 11]. For example, responsible leadership supports a value-based relationship between leaders (e.g. policy makers) and stakeholders (e.g. farmers and consumers) for responsible change for sustainable development in the agricultural sector. [3, 10, 11]. This paper contributes to understanding about responsible leadership integration in smart agriculture and explores AI and IoT based smart agriculture for sustainable agriculture in Bangladesh.
